Vinson's will was probated 7/31/1885. He was survived by wife,Parthenia
and 1 child (by her) Ida F. Brownlee. Sarah Ann Brownlee Cain, his
daughter, was executrix.
Note: All of the research done on Vinson Brownlee's descendents was
done by Mrs. Effie Mavis Jackson of Dallas, Texas. Effie spent over
twenty years researching the Brownlee's and has published "Vincent
Brownlee of Gwinnett County, Georgia in 1996 which provides a
professional geneological record of Vinson Brownlee and his
descendents. Our eternal gradification goes out to Effie Jackson for
all the fine geneological research that she has so kindly provided to
us.
It is believed that the Brumley's/Brownlee's were Scottish from the section of KINCARDINE in Scotland.
"Gwinnett County, Georgia Deaths", by Alice McCabe (R929.37582
M121G) for the Years 1818 - 1989 has many Brownlee's deaths and other
families as well. Vinson's wife, Elizabeth Andrews, was mentioned.
"Gwinnett County, Georgia History", by James C. Flanagan (2 Volumes)
(R975.822 F585h), Volume II, Page 437 has a short history of Vinson
Brumley and his descendents, but is not very thorough. Milton's line
was not given much notice.
"Gwinnett County Families", Pages 80-86, by Alice McCabe has a more
thorough story of the Brownlee Families, but still Milton's line is not
given much notice.
"Abstracts of Georgia Wills", by Jeanette Austin, Volume I, Page 20
stated, "Will Book A (1847-1846) , Pages 313-315, Vinson Brownlee died
January 30, 1882. His will probated July 31, 1885. Survived by wife,
Parthenia and one child (by her) Ida F. Brownlee". His executrix was
Sarah Cain. Neighbors: Tandy Brown, J. J. Hazelrigs and William Winn.
